Pandora's Prophecy by Julie Ryan

‘Pandora’s Prophecy’ is the third in the Greek Island mystery series but can be read as a standalone although some characters from the previous books do make an appearance.
Lisa and Mark are going through a rough patch, Vicky is seventeen and has just discovered that the man she thought was her father really isn’t, Ruth is getting over her husband’s betrayal after nearly twenty-five years of marriage. On the surface they have nothing in common except that they are all staying in the same hotel on a Greek Island. As they each come into contact with the mysterious Pandora, their lives will change forever. Bodies begin to pile up as a serial killer is on the loose who might just be targeting the hotel. The Island’s Police Chief, Christos Pavlides, tries to solve the puzzle but he has problems of his own to resolve. It seems that the local celebrity author is the one who holds the key.

Julie Ryan was born and brought up in a mining village near Barnsley in South Yorkshire. She graduated with a BA (hons) in French Language and Literature from Hull University. Since then she has lived and worked as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language in France, Greece, Poland and Thailand. She now lives in rural Gloucestershire with her husband, son and two cats, a rescue cat and a dippy cat with half a tail.  She is so passionate about books that her collection is now threatening to outgrow her house, much to her husband’s annoyance, as she can’t bear to get rid of any! They have been attempting to renovate their home for the last ten years.
She is the author of the Greek Island Mystery series, Jenna’s Journey, Sophia’s Secret and Pandora’s Prophecy, each of which can be read as a standalone. She considers Greece to be her spiritual home and visits as often as she can. This series was inspired by her desire to return to Crete although there is a strong pull to revisit the Cyclades too.

#ChickLitMay - What's On Page 45?

A Jersey Affair is only 99c / 99p until 20 May in a Kindle Countdown Deal and is the second book in the Jersey Scene series based in Jersey and published by Accent Press. In this book we meet, Paige Bingham, a shoe designer who refuses to let her ex-fiancé’s betrayal crush her. She decides to go alone on their honeymoon to Sorrento and when she meets handsome businessman, Sebastian Fielding, she begins to think that getting jilted probably wasn’t such a devastating thing to have happened. Sebastian has issues of his own and what Paige doesn’t realize is that there’s much more to him than she ever could have expected.

The protagonists in A Jersey Affair have met and are getting along pretty well until Page 45 when Sebastian makes a discovery that could crush any budding romance that might have bloomed between them.

What does Sebastian discover on page 45 and how will they deal with the repercussions of this shattering incident?

Blurb for A Jersey Affair

When shoe designer Paige Bingham is jilted at the altar, she decides to enjoy her honeymoon-for-one in Sorrento. What she doesn't expect is to meet mysterious entrepreneur, Sebastian Fielding, when she arrives. He helps ease the sting of rejection as he introduces her to the ancient sites he knows and loves. Unfortunately, soon after Paige returns home to Jersey, she discovers that Sebastian's company is taking over the struggling store where her business is based... How can Paige stop her fledgling business from going under? And what can she do to fight the gossip now that the paparazzi have published their untruths about 'A Jersey Affair'?

RNA Interview - Joan Hessayon Award

Today I'm being interviewed over at the Romantic Novelists' Association blog about my book, A Jersey Kiss, one of the contenders in this year's Joan Hessayon New Writers' Scheme Award.

The award is open to a manuscript that had gone through the New Writers' Scheme and is subsequently published as a debut novel. It is judged by a panel of experienced RNA members and is sponsored by Dr David Hessayon, in honour of his late wife Joan, who was a longstanding member of the RNA and a great supporter of the New Writers’ Scheme.

Here's the link to my interview at the RNA blog.

If you'd like to ask me anything about the Romantic Novelists' New Writers' Scheme, please feel free to do so.

Book Settings

The weekend didn't start out very nicely, with cloud, drizzle and very low temperatures, but the sun made a welcome appearance this morning just in time for Easter Day.

I began the day by going to St Catherine's, to The Breakwater Café - mentioned in A Jersey Kiss - and enjoying a delicious cooked breakfast with a few family members. As if we hadn't eaten enough, we bought several of their delicious donuts - people come from all over the island to buy The Breakwater Café donuts - and took them home to eat with cups of tea, while we chatted a bit more.

I then waved them goodbye and came inside to continue writing book 4, A Jersey Bombshell. One of the fun parts about writing these books is deciding on settings for the different scenes. I don't want to be repetitive, so I look for new places to use within each book as much as possible. Today I'm writing about Beauport, a beautiful bay with a headland around it that displays beautiful views that are perfect for photos. I suppose I should get back to writing the book...

Happy Easter.
